Sandbar Friday

Finally got out on a buddies Jon boat Friday before the wind. Posted up on a rapidly drying sand bar in Lighthouse inlet. Nailed one nice ~40" bull and two fat bonnet heads in about 1.5hrs. Super nice day. Headed back in early bc I had some afternoon things to do but I got that big one I have been working for. Should be good again once the wind relaxes mid week

Congrats ! Conditions mid-week look great. I think I might have to take a day myself.

Very nice always feels great when you work for something and it pays off, congratulations, a 40 wonderful, just one question for you, how strong ne winds are too stong for bait to stick, and if its for example ene or north does that screw it up as well.

depends on where you are fishing and what the wave activity is like. start with 4oz and go up to 8oz incrementally to find what sticks. if 8oz doesnt stick go home or somewhere else. E/NE is the worst. N actually kinda nice. NNE can be a mix of nice and heavy current depending on what beach. S side sullivans from about 18th down to 13th is a good place to hide from a NNE/NE wind. Conversely the N side of any island is a bad place

Thank you Surfwrangler, good stuff, most appreciated.
