Got a sail and a few dolphin with the biggest a hair under 30. Got some good fish, but it was slow most of the day.
The guy in the white CC who ran behind the blue CC in 300 feet around 9:30 North of the Edisto Banks. Yes, you did run over my spread and cut off a $50 Black Bart. Some of us run this thing they call a way back. I am pretty sure you realized what you did by the way your boat reacted. Tried to hail you on the VHF, but I guess you forgot yours. We read the name of your boat (even though the letters are small). I am not going to name you publicly, but I would appreciate it if you went by Barton and Burwells or Haddrells and purchased a Purple and Black San Sal Candy… or just email me and I will give you my address so you can send me a check. That sh it is just plain uncalled for… please do the right thing, as I think I have to this point…
I also heard this on the radio, but unfortunately I was keeping a close eye on our own $30 Lehi-made way-back at the same time. If the guy in the robalo with twin hondas would have gotten into ours, he would have been down to one engine because of 200# hollow spectra destroying his foot… the center rigger keeping the white spectra braid well above the water for all to see just wasn’t enough apparently.
We did not lose our bait tho. I hope your new friend mans up Cracker.
And I wish people would pay closer attention and have more common courtesy!

You gotta be ****tin me right! You run over a mans spread, and then don’t have the common courtesy to just replace his lure. You could have handled this via email. If it was me and you were going to run over my stuff after repeated attempts to tell you to stop the next thing that would happen would be for me to free spool all the reels to make sure you knew you had run over a spread.
No, Im not.Its happened to me before. How do we know what bait was there?
Because common curtesy would be to drive anywhere but behind a boat that is trolling. If you don’t know, then stay as far away as possible. Some of those guys run their WBs a few hundred yards back when targeting different species.
Just have some mutual respect for the other guys out there. And BTW, mono in your prop is reelly bad for resale value; just so you know.

2005 236 Sailfish
225 Yamaha 4-stroke
ive heard that if you wrap mono around a prop on a mercury, it raises the resale of them... depends on how much you put on there i guess....

Regardless of the lure, it was a dumbass thing to do. The right thing to do at this point would be to apologize and pay me for the sh it that was cut off due to the person’s own stupidity. If I ran over someone’s stuff, the last thing they would have to do would be asking for it to be replaced. I did not even bring up the fact that they got a $20 bucks worth of swivels, hooks, leader line and mono… plus there is no price on my pro rigging ability.
Cracker you are right! no one should be in your spread.I also heard you on the radio sat.It takes a real brain surgeon or a Richard Crainium not to know he was to close. He should pay for what he did regaurdless of the cost of the lure.I would
Everyone knows it’s common courtesy to drop your wayback in freespool when such an genius comes in your spread. Just so if he gets it, he gets it all!
It was a Tiagra 80W with about 2 miles of 100 lb on it… that would have taken a while. Kent said we got back 15’ of mangled line, so I assume he got both wheels in on he action…
Oh, and I was “running” 15 knots and yelling on the VHF while Kent was acting like an LSO waving them off at the time trying to save my lucky Barts… he must have missed the other 3 back there by a hair…we were HS trolling at 10 knots making it even more amzing that he was able to make that 90 degree turn followed by a 180 degree turn to get on our stuff… the whole thing was sureal… I have no idea what they were thinking…
