Cracker you are right! no one should be in your spread.I also heard you on the radio sat.It takes a real brain surgeon or a Richard Crainium not to know he was to close. He should pay for what he did regaurdless of the cost of the lure.I would
We went to New Smyrna, Fla last year on a charter, although the boats were as thick as theives I am ashamed to say the capt of our charter ran over the lines of a smaller boat.
The other boat was within ear shot of us and I could here him clearly blessing the other capt. It was obvious the other boat had four rods in the water.
Sometimes folks just dont care, We caught fish but will not charter his boat again.
You stuck a cord with me on the grillage thing. I cannot count how many times some azz clown has weaved through anchored boats at the grillage. One day the Thunderstar nearly swamped my boat. There are some real azz hats here now that don’t have any common curtesey on the water. From following a trolling boat too close to trying to shave 15 seconds off their trip by cutting through the grillage while folks are trying to enjoy a day of fishing, it’s truly a different atmosphere we are living in.
I think everyone should have to take a boater’s education course in order to operate a boat, power or sail. It would not solve all the problems, but it sure couldn’t hurt.
I’m sorry, but if your boat can’t handle the wake thrown by the Thunderstar, you don’t need to be fishing the shipping channel. Use your common sense. The grillage isn’t a no wake zone. Go fish off a pier if you don’t want to be waked.
This is the kind of bone head response I was expecting. There is a channel and there is the grillage. There is plenty of room for both, but it is the me additude that some people have that causes the problems. If I was anchored in the channel I would fully expect to be run over.
The next time you go out take a close look at where the channel markers are and have some common courtesy. Think about why you are cutting the corner. Did it really make your day to shave 15-20 seconds off your trip all to agrivate a fellow fisher. This has nothing to do with a no wake zone. It has to do with common courtesy.
Additionally, there are regulations that say you may not operate in excess of idle speed within 50 feet of an anchored vessel. There is plenty of room…courtesy gentlemen courtesy.
You just confirmed my statement. It’s all about me…who cares about everyone else. I am glad you can justify it to yourself. I guess that all you need… Class act.
Dude, you got to this area WAY to late.I’m following the same course my dad,and his dad used every time they ran thru the jetties. The only difference today is that every Tom,Dick, and Harry are out there.Have fun,I will be sure and wave next time:smiley:
Don’t waste your time. He’s already shown us that he is too simple to realize that what his dad and grand dad did was in a different time and with much less boat traffic. I remember those days 20 years ago. You could take a lot of liberties then. I remember when mine was the only boat I would see all day in the winter months. Unfortunately those days are long gone.
It’s this mentality though that is giving many fishermen a bad experience on the water ie…Cracker.
BTW Cracker… Sorry to steal your thread and sorry to hear about that experience.
SO,how is the line removal going stripey.......what,something that runs in my family? Why dont you answer the almighty Crackers question as to how all that line got wrapped around your prop.

Your internet ignorance is showing. StriperNailer wasn’t even fishing that day…
I did not get the name of this robalo troller. He sat on top of my one way back for 30 seconds and then started closing on my stern. I had to briefly speed up to 14kts and pull off a weedline because of the guy. That was a short time after I heard chatter on the radio about someone being too close to somebody’s way-backs. I trolled towards inshore and looked back and saw twin hondas on a robalo and guys acting like there was no problem while I had both hands up in the air to give them an obvious WTF?!)%@%$)*. They could have reached out and picked up my lure at one point…
