Is anyone looking at trying to go? Spooked by the rain/storm forecasts. Thoughts?
Was thinking about going. Coming in from out of town. Hoping to go out. Haven’t seen the forecast yet.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Look at the wind speed and direction more than wave height and interval.

I’d look at the storms forecast first. Sure you can dodge them until you can’t, tons of lightning, strong winds and nasty seas mixed in. File a float plan so they know where to start looking.

Seems wind will be not most ideal, rain most likely, pop up storms likely, with years of experience, radar and smarts its possible, but always must have float plan, that’s a given. Out there you can maneuver as the crow flys!
As always commenting with stupid, dumb, etc… is never a helpful post, got to love this forum ;). Charlestonfishing could be so much more, but it has turned to trash!

3 feet at 6 seconds is not ideal. Throw in some rain and storms, itll build quickly. Im in a smaller boat that’s pretty capable but 3 feet is too much. Forecast looks bad enough to keep me at home this weekend.

Planning a trip with that forecast is stupid, especially if you’ve kept track of the new folks and some of the advice asked in here the last 5 years or so. You can tell who has what and radar and electronics aren’t going to save your ass when things go to **** in the blink of an eye because you made a bad decision, that’ll be the USCG’s job.
Chuck fishing has gone soft over the last few years, a good many of the old salts no longer post or you’d see much more frank posts.
No fish is worth someone’s life.

Not sure what forecast you are looking at old salty 
Experience doesn’t only equal time, but regardless, report looks decent as others have agreed ed, getting better, NOAA says slight chance of tstorms, “aka summertime weather” and slight chance equates to 20% which means maybe if any, 3ft at 9sec, littly windy, high pressure over the region, worth a shot, make good decisions and fish if you can…the forecast has been so off this year, 3 times i have gone and it was a complete opposite of what the forecast says…at the end of the day, NOAA will tell you the truth in the morning…! Safety is most important good luck to all who are giving it a try…

4’ at 5 seconds in the AM and 3’ at 5 seconds in the PM with strong storms expected, yep sounds perfectly doable for the small boat fleet. Then again you never know unless you go. Most of the time if they cancel a tourney because of weather, it’s not going to be good.
