Ricky, If you make it out to the sixty try drifting some of those ringtails alive on wire king rigs out behind the boat. This time of year you should have some pretty good results if youre anchored over the reef. I may head out there Friday weather permitting.
killinR, sounds like a winner to me. My brother had a ring on his line when it went screaming. We had king rigs on board, just didn’t pull them out. Boat is set up to have a full spread trolling, just haven’t heard much luck in the shallower water. I don’t see much fun in trolling all day for 2 or 3 fish. Definitely gonna be out there this weekend if weather is good and I will be trolling a little. Gotta use those high dollar baits some time
Rickyparish wasn’t knocking Yall for catching fish ,just saying from all my exp they don’t taste very well especially one that size . Good on Yall for not letting the weather man keep you down catch em up
I once traded cuda heads for a taxi ride ! ate the rest at a beach fish fry, good tasting grilled with mangos This was in Tabago about 5 years ago, Fished aboard Hardplay With Capt. Fourty We released all bills and only kept the cudsa, also kept the flying fish we used for bait and ate them!
DON’T DO it!!!DON’T EAT IT!! You will be sorry if it has cigutera!! You better listen to SELL’S and the rest who have said DON’T… I’m glad you had a fun trip but i will tell you how sorry you are going to be if you get IT!! Another mate and I caught some snappers behind the boats at the dock at the charter-fleet and well I’m TELLING you DON"T EAT THE STINKIN CUDA!!!

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Bolbie - My name is Anthony Stith, Jr. and I am a member of the Sullivan’s Island Fire and Rescue Dept. A friend forwarded me your post about the Sullivan’s Island Fish Fry. Your post is completely inaccurate. Originally we used whole flounders, before switching to flounder filets. The cost of flounder prevented us from continuing to purchase the flounder filets, so we switched to whiting filets roughly 12 to 15 years ago. Simmons Seafood has graciously donated the whiting filets and can confirm this. Your post potentially hurts a fundraiser that helps support the fire and rescue dept. I would hope everyone understands that what you read on the internet is NOT always true; however, should anyone have any questions or concerns, please call the Sullivan’s Island Fire Dept. The on-duty firefighter will happily answer any questions you may have and we hope to see you at our next fundraiser.
I have caught oilfish and they are the nastiest, ugliest, stinky looking thing I have caught,we obviously cut it off,and yes I have had it!!!from the snapper. You will wish you were dead!!

When I saw the original post before anyone commented I said “oh no, here we go”. As long as they had fun catching fish & got out to enjoy the ocean who cares, personally I wouldn’t eat or keep a cuda, nor would I post pics of a trash slam. There are people here locally who enjoy eating amberjacks as well as grouper heads that I give them (very few but there are some who like it), once again not my bag but to each their own. This is kind of why I stopped posting pics here because the keyboard commandos are so critical, but half of the people who comment don’t ever post any fish pics, maybe they don’t go fishing but somehow spend all of their free time on a fishing website???
