I left the dock at 6:40 with just enough light to see and headed down the Beaufort River to a spot where I hooked a large red on the incoming tide the previous day. I set up and fished a shoreline that had only a few oysters near the bank. As I worked towards my previous spot I had a couple of small trout bites on the Houdini Z Man on a trout eye jig head but missed them. I got down to my spot and fished for about an hour with several small trout hitting my mud minnows but managed to get only two into the boat. Both about 12". Moved down the bank about another 100 feet or more and put my minnow under the cork right at the grass line with a few oysters showing. Caught this 16 incher right away and saw a few others pushing but didn’t get any other to bite.
Beautiful morning on the water. Water temp about 68 most places with fairly poor visibility - maybe about a foot. I’ll be back at it again this evening and in the morning.
I know that spot
Good report. It had to be windy in Port Royal Saturday. Blowing today pretty steady too. We worked on the vegetable garden.

Yes. Definitely windy here. We came down Wednesday and are going home today. It’s been blowing every day for the most part. When I used to sail competitively we called it “blowing stink.” I don’t know where that expression came from.
I started to go yesterday morning but when I got to the dock I turned around because of the wind and cold. I went for a while in the afternoon but didn’t catch anything.
I’ll get out a little today and then put the boat on the trailer to go home.
Cracker knows ALL the spots!
All things being equal, I would rather be on the water.

I wish that was true But I gave FlickerFisher a half dozen of my favorite spots around Port Royal. I don’t mind sharing with some folks and he’s one of the good guys.
Most spots can be good sometimes, no spot is good all the time, but some are good most of the time
