I hit the beach on Sullivan’s Saturday morning hoping to find some flounder. I only managed one of those and it was under-sized. I caught about 12 small reds and one nice trout.
Glad to see some of you catching some big flounder.
All were caught on a Carolina rig with finger mullet. The mullet were thick out there. As you can see I had a 2nd fishing partner in a Blue Heron. It seemed too lazy catch it’s own food and was content to wait on handouts. It didn’t appear to be hurt and was able to fly.
I really think those guys get trained…I was in Pawleys creek a few weeks ago and I got out of my kayak to catch some bait. There was a Blue heron about 80 yards down from me, just cruising the bank. As soon as he saw me pull my cast net out of the bucket, he came right to me…he stayed close enough to touch the entire time I was throwing my net…and yes…I tossed him a few menhaden…lol. So, I guess it’s guys like me that are part of the problem.

Me, too. I gave him a few finger mullet.

Great day on the water Mr. Taylor. Those are some beautiful pics of that heron:smiley:
That guy is always there, even if you dont see him. You show up with fishing rods and he will camp out next to you. He isnt afraid to spear the fish you release right out of the water…i wstched him do it once. Here is a photo of him 3 yrs ago eying my shrimp.

Hey Mr. Pete, I haven’t seen you on here lately. I hope I can go fishing with you sometime this fall.
