Saturday-Not Ideal

Once the tide finally started to fall, fished with the wife with artificials only. Not a bite until late in the afternoon after the tide started to come back in. Caught a few keeper trout and missed some bass that would never get hooked–seemed like they would slam the lure but couldn’t find the hook. Muddy water, full moon, and NE wind–not ideal but good day with the wife on the water. Gotta go when you can.

Went back yesterday. Had it all to ourselves. Water had cleared up in spots and it was a beautiful day. Ended up with 6 bass (17-19") and 6 trout (15-18") Caught on various grubs. I did notice that the trout would hit the ones on the mono much more than the ones fished on the spider wire. Missed many more fish. What a difference a couple of days make.

Did you tie on leaders to the spider wire?

Just trying to learn every bit I can about saltwater fishing…

No but I’ll know better next time.
