Saturday/ Sunday/Monday

The weather this weekend seemed more like Michigan weather than South Carolina. It didnt discourage us though. We hit the water Saturday afternoon at about 1pm and fished the falling tide. It started out slow for about the first hour then it was on the trout were biting right where I left them last time. We picked up quite a few, nice trout with one hog at 22" we ended up keeping seven trout and two reds. We threw back a half dozen or so keeper trout and a couple smaller slot reds. It was a really nice afternoon despite the weather.

Even though we knew the weather was only going to be worse and the temp colder we made plans for Sunday Morning. We got to the ramp at 7 and the wind was blowing 15-20 and raining. We questioned our sanity, put on our gortex and pushed off. We headed to the trout spot but the wind was not letting us play so we moved up a creek and hit behind the marsh and fished for about an hour with only one trout. I knew a spot that I though was holding some fish the only problem was that we had to go north to get there. Once again we questioned our sanity and headed north in the 20 MPH North wind with 2-2-1/2 foot waves to try to get to get there. After about a 20 min very rough cold ride we got there and crawled into the creek and started fishing. We made a good choice we found a good school of reds that provided us with some entertainment. We caught about 15 all but two were slot. The reds moved out and the trout moved in and we caught a dozen or so 16" trout before the tide got too high and the bite stopped. We headed for the dock and a cup of coffee!
