SC Kayak Fishing Team

i vote for chucktown yak anglers

I really like the idea of a club. I just think that may be a little more inviting for everyone that likes to fish from a kayak. Then start teams after that. Thats just my thoughts anyway.

For a club, I kind of like the name, “Pluff Mud Paddlers”

If everybody could have your votes in by Wednesday the 11th that would be great

i agree with the idea to get a club going first. im just getting into the sport but my brother is a member of TKAA, Tidewater Kayak Anglers Association, in VA. i think a club is definitely more inclusive and promotes the growth of the sport more. plus to have a group of people to share and compare experiences and situations would be great for everyone. maybe Charleston Kayak Anglers Assoc.?

I like the club idea. I beleive there are a lot of kayak anglers that would like to share more details about their fishing experiences outside of a public forum like charlestonfishing.

You can share you experience without giving away your locations

Everybody get your votes in tonight…so far the name with the most votes has been chucktown yak anglers…i will post the winner tomorrow

Yaking4redfish- Have you given any thought to what we are saying about forming a club? I think we are better off supporting the sport and community as a whole with a club. I have no vote for a team name at this point. Instead, I vote that we switch our focus to creating a local club. I am excited to form a team but I think we may be getting slightly ahead of ourselves.

thats cool with me …as far as what we have been doing as far as coming up with a name…would yall rather stop vote for a name or continue with the voting of a name for the club?? im excited about this idea and i want it to work…there are alot of great people involved with this and i look forward to meeting everybody

Yeah man set up a meeting time, find a place that would accomdate 20 or so people maybe see if one of the local fishing shops would let you host a kayaking seminar in reference to this. Or just check around for open locations that wouldn’t charge

but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

anybody have some ideas for a meeting spot?? open for suggestions

if everybody could send me some dates and times they are available to meet that would be great

From past experience of assisting in running a large organization, set a date you want people to be there, if they can’t show up thats what minutes are for. If you ask people when they can show up you will never get a date haha

Being from Columbia, it would be difficult for me to attend all (or even most) meetings but, I would still be interested in joining if you plan on letting out of towners join.

Yeah i would be interested in joining the club. If you guys will lwt 13 year olds in. I know how to fish and can handle myself in a kayak. If you guys are good with it count me in!

A small fish in hand is better than big fish in promise

I agree with the club idea as a beginning and create teams from within. I haven’t been on in aittle while but this has really taken off. For people like dfreedom and myself that are “out of towners” a club is a much more inviting way to be a part of something we enjoy and be able to make it down and fish when able.

Maybe something like 8pm somewhere in Charleston for a meeting time. Some of the clubs that I were in a long time ago met around 7-8pm. It always seemed like most people showed up closer to 8 due to getting off work and family stuff. I think as long as everyone new about it a week or two ahead of time for the first meeting, then most of us could make plans to be there.

I think everyone should be able to join the club. All ages and from anywhere.

I’ll offer up Time Out Sports for a meeting place if needed, just can’t be a Wednesday. Some place with cold beverages would always be my first choice though… Salty Mike’s???

How about meeting in a place we would all like to be? Say a landing? A meet and Fish? I was thinking something on the stono, James Island, or John’s Island. Something away from where most of us traditionally fish.

I know of a flat up north on the waterway we could all go to. Someone showed it to me once…
