the ville would be a nice place to go on the 22nd of january

Just about anyplace would be a place I have not fished before. I would love to go out with some veteran yak fisherman.

I’m only about a month late getting in on the conversation but I’d be interested in hearing more about the club. An outdoor first meeting in January would be weather dependent for a wimp like me though.

I’m not too sure about letting 13 yr olds in the club… I hate getting out-fished by someone a quarter my age!

i dont think you have to worry about that localhero! im sure all of yall could outfish me! but i would like to join a club. i would be able to go about anywhere for meetings. though the only thing about picking a meet n fish is it could end up being cold windy and rainy. a tackle shop or store would be my opinion.

A small fish in hand is better than big fish in promise

Yes I am a cold weathered wimp too, not because I can’t handle it just because I don’t have the clothing for it yet, and a SOT is what a ride in, I think you should est a meeting spot where everyone can meet and socialize check out everyone schedule, then set up a fishing time … see how many people actually show up to a meeting w/o kayaks at first …

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

Sounds good to me. Let’s meet at Time Out then.

Where is time out sports at? and the club is gonna be open to all ages? also what is the name of our club?

A small fish in hand is better than big fish in promise

Time Out is in Mt Pleasant off of 17, as far as the club name not many people have voted but the ones that did the name with the most votes so far was chucktown yak anglers…i believe we will figure out a name when we have the meet and greet, i dont have a problem with somebody under 18 being aloud in the club but i know most places would require someone under 18 to have a parent of guardian sign a form saying its ok for their child to participate and will not hold us responsible for anything that could happen

The plus side to minors in the club would be designated drivers to and from said “meetings”!!!

My parents are okay with it, i just need a form to sign! i believe chucktown yak anglers is the name chosen for the club. we need to esablish a meeting time and place that fits everybody time out sounds good but i was thinking of someplace in west ashley since its closer to alot of people. Everybody needs to attend the first meeting so we can get a head count. The club needs a website(i can do that i think) and eventually tshirts! if west ashley sounds good to yall i will call the angler tommorow afterschool to see if they would let us do it their. Im just waiting on yalls confirmations.

im definitely down for a meeting. set a time. ill be there. also i know it wasnt in the vote earlier, but what about something like Charleston Kayak Anglers Association. my brother is a member of a large club in the Tidewater, va area. check out their site. it might be of some help to us as we try to get this thing going. www.tkaa.org

i dont lnow how everybody feels about the club name as many people havent voted so if yall want to decide the name when we meet that would be cool…im coming from Columbia SC so i was hoping to come down and do some fishing…january 22nd is the day i was coming down to fish at the ville…so if possible i would like to have the meeting that day later in the after noon like around 5 or so…if somebody could suggest a place…the weather is suppose to be nice sunday so a meet and fish we be great too…

Any of ya’ll going to the CF oyster roast on the 28th? If so, it would be nice to meet some of you.

Oyster roast? Oh, Oyster roast! Sounds good to me! Here’s a thread link for anyone else who didn’t know about it:

Guys!! January 22 is a huge day for football, I hope the date can be reconsider or at least an earlier time like 1 pm. Games start at 3 & 6:30.

It’s set for the 28th

I like this idea. Informal meeting over oysters and beer at the County Park. Bring your boat, maybe we can fish later! I motion that we:

Discuss a more formal meeting later, after football season, etc.

Hold off on a name until the meeting. I personally think the name should be a bit more inclusive than just Charleston. As pointed out in a previous post, I think a club name should mirror some of the other groups out there, i.e. FCKA, TKAA, NCKA, etc. LCKA? LCKAA? although I do like a group that we can call PiMP.

I motion that Tommy “TooBusy” Samuels becomes our leader. Don’t let the name fool you, he really doesn’t have anything to do

28th at the oyster roast???
