SC Kayak Fishing Team

That is OK…I would think that the club should be more regional or local. Then the thought is that we would have more then a single club in SC instead of one. Some yakers might be more into freshwater and others into salt.

we could start up with one club for saltwater and travel to murrels inlet and HHI and beaufort and stuff. after we do that club a freshwater club is a good idea also but i wouldnt be in that. A club for both fresh and salt would be pretty large and the whole club coulnt ever all fish together. i think something along the lines of Lowcountry Kayak Fishing Club LKFC for short.

i have been trying to coordinate a meeting place and time with several of the other local yakers…i started this club idea to bring people together…some people have work schedules and family life among other things going on…i plan trying to have the first official meeting within the next few weeks…im proably going to make some people mad and if i do so be it…im in no way rude or an a-hole but i dont appreciate somebody hijacking the arranging of a meeting and trying to set a time and place…i have a work schedule to work around as well as having to take my son every other weekend to Spartanburg for visitation with his mom…so i have to try and have the meeting on the weekend he doesnt go and also hope i dont have to work that weekend as i work EMS…be patient the meeting is coming…everybody have a great night and sorry for having to put my foot down and saying how i feel

Sorry Yaking4Redfish if you feel that I’m crossing the line but if you go back through the threads of this post you would notice that I suggested the concept of a club first and then look into a team. There is probably nothing wrong with having several clubs in the state as this would promote Kayak Fishing better. But if you feel strongly to have a club out of Charleston that is fine as well. So I can wait as well.

Please note that my work schedule might not be as stressful as yours as my normal work day is 10 hours a day and 5-days a week for the norm…Something I’m at work up to 14 hours and 5 - 6 days per week for special events.

This is a great suggestion but I would like to see if we could get a Club going first. All the states mentioned in the earlier threads that have Teams also have Clubs. I would think that if a club is formed by area or section the clubs could form their own teams and we could have inter-state contest as well. Eventually this could be the process to select a State Team. My 2 cents.

When i started this post it was an idea to start a kayak fishing club or team which ever you prefer to call it for kayakers to get together and fish and have a good time while we promote the sport we love…all i was trying to say in the above reply was that i didnt appreciate somebody getting on here and trying to take my idea over and make plans to call local shops to have the meeting at and set dates…the meeting is coming so please be patient…i was trying to form this club with the intentions of any kayak joining to have form with like minded people, also be able to share info, tips, help to new comers, club/team members car pooling…sharing camping/hotel rooms for out of state tournaments, prefish together and share info so the club/team have a strong showing at the tournament and represent SC…i have no problem with it being called a club as i know when tournaments come up that are out of town that several would be going… im calling on Lost@sea Dolphin TooBusy to assist in setting up a meeting on Feb 11th at Time Out in Mt Pleasant…thank you and i hope to see everybody there.
