Everyone knows the story of Don Prudhome’s Blackened Redfish receipt (Chas spelling) inadvertently making the fish a sportsfish, highly regulated, with record numbers. As I posted the pics from my Thursday charter, ready to walk out the door to deer hunt, I realized the similarity of our interaction with the reds and the deer. More and more, I’m seeing people harvesting does and letting young bucks walk. Practically all of my fishing clients want to keep just enough fish to eat that night and release the rest. You go South Carolina!
