Searching for Pompano

Pomps seem to be a little more common this year. I’ve always had a hard time finding them, probably because I cast too far past them lol.

Anyhow, I want to take my son out to the beach in the coming weeks to catch his first pomps (a 5 year old, his quest is to catch “one of each”, he’s still telling everyone about the southern hake he caught a couple weeks ago).

Would y’all suggest around the middle/north of Sullivans, IOP side of Breech, or north Folly?

I’m trying Saturday AM too so will let you know. I tried folly specifically 3 times the past 2 weeks and struck out. Moving on to new pastures

hit 25th on iop on low tide. not a good sandbar setup there at all and i was with the family so we stayed put. only managed 2 small whiting and a couple pup sharks. tons of periwinkle clams in the swash, likely whats got those pompano that others are catching hanging out…
