seeing rod at night

I like to fish the night to avoid catching tourists but have hated not being able to see action on the rod. Got some yellow automotive tail-light tape yesterday and threw it around the ends of my rods. Paired with a headlamp, it’s just as good as a glowstick.

When I fish at night I use the glow sticks I get from the dollar store. There is a glow stick necklace, where you can cut the string and you are left with pieces that are about a inch long and you can hook the to the tip of your rod. they work for any type of fishing. If you don’t care for the glowsticks, you can try a bell.

You can buy those electric fish alarms that beep when you get strikes…all over eBay…

I’m a high class redneck.

Fishing is a delusion entirely surrounded by liars in pfgs and buffs.

you can also get an entire rod that glows and has 2 LEDs built into it for night fishing and it looks like an 8 foot light saber when lit up. i have one of those and love it…even doubles as a flashlight walking back when you break it in half. i have an 8 foot medium heavy spinning rod and it has handled sharpnose and bull reds no sweat, but unfortunately hasnt been tested against a big shark yet.

They actually sell the little minature glowsticks at walmart that attach to your rod, specifically for fishing
