Sept 26 report: strong current, no Bulls yet

Spent a challenging day bouncing around my usual South Edisto near shore spots without much luck. Was hearing reports of some larger Spottails caught near the beach and expected to run into a few, but the law of averages dictated that I was due for a so-so day.

Caught about ten Whiting and the same number of Spots. Also a nice 3.5 foot Shark that wasnt a Sharpnose, as well as a smaller version that was a nice shade of royal blue. Sand Bar Shark?

We also brought in a scary looking sea spider.

Current was really running near shore, and it took 4 ounces + to keep bait on the bottom. Got rained on a little too.

Will be back out there shortly. Cant beat it.

I’ve heard of a few 40+ Bulls caught off of the IOP pier/surf, the past couple of weeks.

The blue shark might’ve been a Thresher?

Thanks, once again, for your reports, and pics!

consensus is a Blacknose Shark. Not to be confused with a Blacktip

Excellent Day!
