Looking to go shark fishing down on folly beach tomorrow afternoon/night. we normally fish down by the lighthouse inlet but haven’t had much luck lately. anyone have any suggestions on which part of the beach may be best?
I dont think it matters a whole lot where you fish. The sharpnose and blacktip bite is pretty strong all over the beach. As long as you have the right bait (cut or whole whiting, mullet, stingray) etc. and the right gear and cast deep enough you should do ok. I or people I fish with have caught them at multiple spots on the beach.
Okay thanks, how far out do you normally cast?
As far as you can wade out and cast or cast from the shore the better. The deeper you get, the better the bite should be.
I wish we had a good kayak launch near the beach, so that you could easily dump your tackle and such on the yak, paddle to wherever you want to shark fish, and now you can yak your bait out as far as you want, and then yak back to the launch. No carrying lots of stuff (and a kayak) all over the place.

I’m going out today. I’ll be near the end towards the lighthouse side. Bringing a kayak. Look for us if you go
