23sailfish you’ve been following me around like a shadow on here for about a year. What’s your deal do we have a personal problem?

Reason is, sharkfishing is illegal at the pier, 3 blocks east and west of pier.

Ya know, it must be nice living in Neverneverland. Remind me to come visit you, when I need a break from reality.

I’m going to make my final post on this thread simple… You guys know me on here, go through and find all my old posts, there is not 1 post where I come across as cocky, arrogant, or claiming to be a Shark Expert I just try to offer my opinion. Yes I have said I’ve loved sharks since I was a small boy and have been reading about them my whole life… Ive been fishing JI/FB my whole life it was in 2010 when I figured out how to catch sharks from the surf, which was awesome! Finally the sharks I loved I could get my hands on and learn more! There are posts where I come across as angry about certain things but its almost always because of something that someone did to hurt a shark, give bad publicity to the sport (not just shark fishing but fishing in general), or was being rude to another person. I have gotten lots of PMs on here from people interested in catching sharks from the surf… Ive replied to them all and tried to help give people my opinion on what works best for surf fishing for sharks. I don’t like being lumped in the group of LBSF, simply because I’m not fishing in the same manner… I don’t kayak giant baits 300 yards from the beach on a 80wide. Blacktips have been my favorite species for a long time… They peel drag at 40mph and jump while doing it, They are a registered game fish in SC, which is rare for a shark. You can catch them really shallow in the breakers and hang on for a fun fight. Yes I was approached in 2015 by the SC DNR about helping them with a study on Blacktips! Which was right up my alley because I love them so much! Its going to be so cool to see what our local population of Blacktips do all year! Do they stay in the surf zone all summer? Do they venture far into creeks? This is all interesting stuff we can learn! I’m excited! So I’m going to end this by saying I’m sorry if I offended anyone in anyway, I don’t consider myself a Land Based Shark Fisherman I consider myself a Surf Fisherman. Calling me out because I catch smaller sharks doesn’t hurt my feelings one bit. That’s lik

I love how this thread started out with a theme of “Hey!! they are trying to take away something we all love to do, so lets show them how we are mature/professional, or better yet, lets all go totally “radio-silent” on sharking for a good while!” Then, NEXT 15 POSTS =’“Childish BS pissing contest” between two people dead set on showing any outsiders reading these forums just how immature sharkers can be. Thanks. (Editors note: Dear outside/visiting readers. Please lets us continue to do something we love to do. We will do it during off-hours and in sparsely populated beach areas. Thank you.)

No matter how many variables I have control over, I never expect a bite. I only hope.

Good entertainment 40inchred says not to post pics of shark fishing but tells how a beach full of people comes to him while he drags one on shore? Does not everyone and their great grandmaw have cell phones? and then don’t all those photos get posted somewhere?

If you want to keep sharkfishing on the Beaches under wraps do it at Night. It’s actually more productive. and don’t go “full Texas chainsaw massacre” on your bait in front of beach goers if you are so worried about banning shark fishing.

Sounds like 40inch and Follyfisher need to have a beer together.

“Why Bruce?”

Not sure 40 is of legal age. They should have a fish off

I also enjoy the shark threads, entertaining as alway’s. Some of the best on CF. As some have mentioned y’all may intend to help, but the added exposure in any way may be doing more harm than good. I have alway’s thought if it is coming, that not a whole lot can be done to stop it. Moms and dads will do whatever it takes to protect their children. If they “feel” and I stress “feel” like bait in the water increases the chances of kids getting bit by a shark, they will oppose it. I enjoy both of your posts and hope that one day y’all can work out your differences. Y’all both have helped me out with advice in the past through PM’S regarding sharks. I think if people met y’all they would quickly come to the conclusion that y’all are pretty good folks. I personally met 40 last year at the Mad surf fishing event. 40 in my experiance in person was a very positive one. He showed up to the event and handed out fresh bags of mullet to everyone that he caught the night before. He could have held on to the much needed premium bait, but instead of hoarding it he did the right thing and passed it out to others hoping for the success not only for his team, but the success for all teams. A pretty selfless act in my opinion.

I think this is a question, but I’m unsure due to the fact that the punctuation is questionmarkable at best…you smart guys will see what I did there.

Thanks for the congratulations. I was awarded by ADMIN the power of moderation, which I use for good most of the time. Every once in a while one of these yahoos on here will take drunk and spew a bunch of nonsense after hours and call me the next day to ask me to remove it. I usually oblige. Sometimes, I just let Peepod’s stay for the sheer entertainment value.

I don’t follow you. Much of the time I can’t figure out what you’re trying to say. I think in your head you might be a lot smarter than you appear on paper. Hey, some people are book smart and others, well, they aren’t.

What I do follow and respond to on here is people that are creating a negative impact on our sport/resource/favorite pastime. I only respond to you when you say something ignorant or lead other people to believe something which isn’t true…which has been several times in the last few weeks that I can remember.

You have to understand that the words you choose to put here are looked at by others, thousands of others. Its not that dissimilar from the mainstream media. Once the perception is out there, no matter what that perception may be, its believed to be true until someone completely discredits it. There is so much misinformation and false st

Dang Ricky, that stung me and I wasn’t even the source of your post. Touche’ young man…sorry about the French.

23 uses that great invention called the “paragraph” for which we owe him a great debt of gratitude.
I am glad to see it has not gone the way of the adverb.
So many of the posts on CF are unreadable blocks of
verbiage; and as such are insulting and discourteous to the reader.
