Shark fishing question( sorry)

So I know that there are many questions about sharks on here but there are 2 thing’s I need help with, catching the bait and where to go. So basically RiverMonster and I are going to do some sharking soon. We are going to paddle out some baits with his yak’s and hope for some big sharks. Where to get the bait, we know stingray, blues, whiting, and mullet are good. I guess the question is where to get them? We hope to catch the whiting ourselve’s but other than those where would be a good place to get/cast net some of the other baits? My last question is where to go. We are looking for a good spot that will produce some shark’s, whiting, and possibly red’s. If you don’t want to post it we would appreciate if you would send a pm. We won’t fish there much or end up telling anybody. We appreciate all help in advance, thank’s!!!

Go to a fish store and see if they have any bonito or bluefish they can sell to you.Cut big chunks for bait. Go to the harbor side of Sullivan’s Island beach. Use your yak to get the bait out as far as you can. Sit back and hold on…

You can get both bluefish and sometimes bonito at the Asian market on Northwoods Boulevard near the Northwoods mall. Also they have fresh mullet and the cheapest heads on shrimp around. I shop there for bait and shrimp for dinner.

Gills- what is their price per pound of head on shrimp?

A couple of weeks ago it was $2.50/lb mixed sizes, but mostly medium to large. It varies in price. It’s been as high as $3.50/lb but that when they are all jumbos.

The stono inlet has a lot of.nice sharks. Walk down kiawah beach and paddle baits out

Before you get all excited about shark fishing, there are some things you need to know. number one you need to get with beachpirate and ask him how to do some shark fishing. another thing you need to do is go to http://www.tx-sharkfishing.com/messageboard/ they can help you with all your questions. and the last thing is fish 54th street and up on IOP. there is a deep sandbar and there are some huge fish that comes out of that area. I hope that helps.

Thanks everybody! I will try some of the suggestions. Steven, we just kinda want to mess around the first time and get the feel of the yaks in the ocean haha. I already have the rigs and rods ready to go so I’ll try when I get back from New York!
