Headed back to college of charleston for the year, been out of town all summer. I’m looking to get on some Sharks and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on where they have been hitting, baits and anything else you’d be willing to share. I do have a kayak and some heavier rods so kayaking out the baits isn’t an issue. Much appreciated.
I haven’t went shark fishing in a while so I can’t give you good answers but folly has been hot for sharks all year and so has shark fishing in general in the Charleston area. I fish down by the washout area on folly not really targeting sharks but I almost always hook something when the sun starts going down that makes me want to try some big shark fishing there. I don’t have a yak so my shark fishing from the beach is kept pretty limited but this is an area that seems likely to produce something large and if you decide that you might want to try this area feel free to send me a message cause I’m down.
Use a live blue fish or a whiting on a circle hook and you’re sure to find something. I use double hook rigs with tiny hooks and fresh shrimp to catch bait.

Hey I’m a CofC student as well, comin’ back for my last 2 semesters. If you look in the inshore reports there’s been a few big sharks at folly, I haven’t tried it myself but like 40inchreds I’d be down to have a go at it, looks like a great time from the pictures I’ve seen.
went out saturday night went 0/2 - 6’ blacktip rolled off in the suds and an unknown monster ripped off about 400 yards before coming loose
I fish to leave the rest of the world behind. I fish because I respect the fish. I fish because it’s in my DNA.
