Shark's

I keep on trying but don’t have any luck. I am using fresh bait and good gear so I guess my question is spot’s. My dad and I are going out Saturday for a while and I would appreciate some spot’s(If your not comfortable giving out spot’s you could pm me). All help will be appreciated.

I’m so salt life I sued google earth for giving away all of my fishing spot’s.

The folly pier in the evening is a good spot for sharks. I like right next to the fillet table for sharks especially if someone is filleting up their fish. I also like the north end of folly beach. If you park at the end and walk along the road to the end. I fish the lighthouse inlet. The thing to know when you are fishing there is there are spots where the channel comes pretty close to the bank about 1Oftish of shore then it drops straight down. For Sharks I like those spots a little better where I can get my bait in the channel easier. It’s easier to see at low tide.

Station 16 on Sullivans Island. Best spot for shark surf fishing IMO. Sisters fiance hooked up on this bonnet head the last time. Not huge, but you get the idea. Had another almost take my pole straight out the holder and then snapped the line.

Go to the north end of folly 2 hours before low tide and turn left, walking down the inlet. Look for the mud in the sand - thats where the currents are breaking away and you can walk right to the edge of the drop off at dead low and drop a line 15 feet straight down sometimes. Use at least a 4oz. weight and cast 15 or 20 feet out and get it to the bottom - cut whiting, sting ray, blues, any other bait fish should work. I love that spot because there are no waves to contend with and you can pull the fish right up on the sand.

Do not wade or swim here - currents are very dangerous.

We pulled a 5.5 footer up on the sand years ago and some old guy took the meat home in a wheel barrow, leaving us the head and innards. I tied this off to my rod holder and hung it in the edge of the water on that drop off, shortly after a huge shark came right along the sand and took the whole thing in one bite/pass.

How far down after the old coast gaurd station are you doing this?

It’s just before you get to Fort Moultrie. There will be a white post sticking out of the ground that says Station 16.
