tough as nails. Have a ton of respect for that guy.
Who do you have waiting in the wings?
Will Thompson be the starter next year?
Looking forward to him and Clowney being gone.

No doubt he is tough.
Thompson will be the starter. He played well. moved the ball down the field. Davis fumbled on the 2. They just didnt finish drives.
Thompson will be QB next year. A little maturity and Dylan will be very good. In his play the last two seasons, he’s shown some streaks of fantastic play. We will certainly miss Shaw though. He’ll leave SC as the best quarterback in school history.
Conner Mitch will push Thompson for playing time next year redshirted this year. Shaw is a great college quarterback and leaves everything out on the field every time he pplays.
Brendan Nosovitch. Spurrier recruited him hard up in Pennsylvania. I think he will beat out Thompson. Dylan is not mobile enough for our offensive schemes. Nosovitch is supposed to be very smart and faster than Shaw is. He is the future IMO.

Loved watching Shaw play. He just wanted it more than most on the field. He reminded me of watching Brewer, just at QB. Determination!
As far as the QB. CRM, you say he doesn’t fit into the schemes you have. I would say those schemes are not typical Spurrier schemes, but schemes in place for the type of personnel he had. I think Thompson fits his mold of QB a lot better than Shaw. He is accurate and mobile enough as he showed against Clemson last year. If your defense gets back to last years D (they don’t have far to go) and your O line gets a little stronger, I think SOS can use Thompson and run the offense more like he had a Florida. You already have a more than capable RB.
Y’all will be tough to beat for some years IMO. As long as Clemson stays with this fancy offense and mediocre defenses, y’all will win many of the rivalry games. SOS is doing what he knows how to do, WIN! It is just taking him a little longer at USC because he doesn’t have the talent pool he had a Florida, but he got something in place there now! I have always thought he was one of the best coaches in the country and still do. Kudos to him and the Gamecocks! Give me the ball controlling, more physical team any day!
It’s interesting to me that Shaw doesn’t receive more national recognition than he does. Especially after the hero comeback against Missouri. That dude is quick and not scared to take a hit.
