Sheepshead, Pinfish?

I was considering trying for some sheepshead this weekend. It’s been a good 6 or 7 years since I’ve tried catching em’ (and that was out of Mount Pleasant) so my memory is a bit hazy. I remember the basic concept but I could certainly use a few pointers.

By the way, just wondering if anybody has heard anything about the Tarpon lately? I was really hoping to learn how to catch some pinfish, rather than buying them…?

Sheepshead: small but strong hooks (circle hooks no longer mandated by law). Hook em before they bite.

Tarpon: reports of some spotted on the surface today in Port Royal, along the sargassum, but I did not see them myself. Heard of one hooked up this week.

Pinfish: Sabiki rig topped with a tiny chunk of shrimp, around certain docks, structure, or creek spots known to hold pinfish. Otherwise we just find them amongst mullet and other baitfish when castnetting in the creeks.
