Has anyone had any luck around the Dawhoo Bridge for sheepshead? If not would anyone like to give a hint as to where they do catch’em? I’ll be down there in two weeks and wanted to give them a try.

Try fishing by all of the pivate docks in Big Bay Creek. Have caught some in the past. Especially the ones closest to the Marina.</font id=“Comic Sans MS”></font id=“size3”></font id=“blue”>
I think this is a Sheepshead. Caught off my neighbor’s dock on Store Creek.
If it’s not a sheepshead, someone please let me know. I’m just getting into fishing because my son loves it.</font id=“Verdana”>

No pic, but it should look like these…

The teeth are a dead give away. Not the trout.
It was definitely a sheepshead. I can’t get the image to upload to this forum. How do you do it.
E-mail it to me. I’ll post or go to the off topic section and read the sticky. You’ll need a photobucket account.
I figured out the photobucket deal. Thanks for your help.
I caught this using my daughter’s little starter fishing pole that wouldn’t even crank a fish this size once it was out of the water. I had to hoist it by hand up to the dock. I had a shrimp on a hook just hanging below the surface on an incoming tide at the end of the dock. It surprised me because it was the biggest thing we caught that day.

If it had two dorsal fins, then it’s a black drum. If it only had one dorsal fin, then it’s a sheepshead.
Also, the stripes tend to be a bit more pronounced on a sheepshead.
It looks like a black drum to me, but the angle makes it a bit tough.
Here’s a black drum (random picture from the internet - I have no idea who this kid is):

Here’s a sheepshead, for comparison:

Black drum look like this when they get big (not me, just another random internet picture):

Creekfisher,
That looks like a black drum to me.
The mouth is always the dead give away, wether it’s a sheepshead or black drum.
Black Drum it is. Thanks for keeping me straight.
We’re on Store Creek for the weekend. The dolphins put on a big show down at Peters Point this evening. Hope to do some fishing tomorrow.
Dolphins are all over the place at Edisto. It can be fun watching them play together. It’s also funny watching the tourists stare in awe at them when they show up.
A sidenote: It’s also funny watching the tourists try to catch crabs with a chicken neck and a string - at HIGH tide instead of low tide(also, often no net to scoop them up).
