Shrimp Prices

Not exactly a fishing question but I know you guys will know.
There was an article in the Greenville News this morning about shrimp prices on the coast being $15 per pound. Anything to that? We will be down next Sat. and I was planning on bringing some home but not at that price.
Thank you for any info you can provide.

Edisto Seafood has 21-25’s for $10.95 and 26-30’s for $8.95.

Flower’s is not charging $15 per pound either. I think those prices are coming from big city grocery stores.

Large at our Publix are running $7.95 per pound. Don’t think they are local though.
Thank You and see you next Sat.

I have spent most of my life fishing.
The rest has been wasted.

Check B&B Seafood Bennett’s Point, SC. 843-844-2322. They normally have the best prices on shrimp, plus it’s a fun ride over from Edisto by boat to get them. If you come thru Walterboro on Hwy 64 about a mile or so from the bypass (Edisto side of Walterboro) the seafood place on the left going towards Edisto sells shrimp from Bennett’s Point and normally has the same price as B&B.

I’ve been told Shrimp season didn’t open, because there is no Shrimp.
