Here’s a video our men’s ministry made a few years ago about how to shrimp in SC.

SS Fiero we are taking 4 boats…12 guys total. We have 3 spots left on the retreat. Thanks.
You have 2 left. I just signed up. I’m also passing this info to some guys I know who might be interested.
Looking forward to it.
Is there any chance any of you would have God’s cell#? If so, ask him to turn off the rain water. Enough is enough. Thanks.
Oh and ask him if he was on vacation when Dick Cheney and no-see-ums were made?

Thanks baitball…you are correct, it’s been a wet summer. Still waiting to see how that will affect our shrimping! Guess we will find out on Sept. 13th.
Ok who wants to take me out or just tell me the ins and outs
The Charleston Angler in Mt P is having a seminar Aug. 18. I went to it a couple years ago. They will teach you all you need to know. The biggest issue is whether or not there will be a good crop this year. Been bad the past couple of years. If there are a lot of shrimp, anybody with a boat and 17 brain cells can catch them. Good luck!
Does the driver need a shrimp baiting license as well as the person baiting/throwing he net? My dad lives out of state and wondering if he can drive the boat or if I need to convince me wife to

I was told only the person throwing the net.
Doesn’t matter driver or thrower, as we often switch. The owner of the licence that are on the poles just has to be on the boat.

A non-resident without a shrimp baiting license cannot participate in the shrimp-baiting activity which means he cannot cast the net. Should be OK to drive boat and hand you a beer.

Many feed & seed stores will carry the necessary ingredients. Also stores such as Sportsman’s Warehouse in Columbia or Haddrell’s in Charleston, etc. will have what you need. If you want to mix it yourself, clay (store bought kaolin clay, instead of local red clay, is easiest to use) and fish meal. That is what I do. If you want the easiest method (but more expensive), buy Bait Binder http://www.baitbinder.com/ . With it, all you have to do is add water and it is almost foolproof. All of these ingredients are readily available during the season.

RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. Still can’t get him out of my mind. What a special friend he was.
