Hi all-
I’m planning on doing some shrimping in Edisto this season. Until now all my experience is in Charleston harbor and Bulls Bay.
Would do people typically go? SHS? It seems like the tide really rips down the S. Edisto so not sure if it would be too good? I know there are some sandbars through there that might work well. I’ve had a lot of years experience so I can probably manage to find my own spots but any advice would be appreciated.

Lots of good spots up the river, but I like to plant my poles on the edge of the mudbank to the right coming out of Big Bay creek in to the sound…
You definitely should go over to the sound (St.Helena), and even on over to the ocean end of Monkey Island,
Go to the sound and set up near the channels, you will see where everyone else is
hope for muddy water
Knothead is right but here are a few more details. Leave the marina and go up the S. Edisto to ■■■■■■■ Cut (ICW), go through the cut and hang a left. This is the Ashepoo. Continue to where it empties into St. Helena Sound. First reel good place is just to right where river meets sound. Easy to get to. Daytime needs REAL muddy water but we have been lucky. NIghtime is great but can be very DARK. Be careful coming back. If you are not sure where the cut is you might just backtrack on the GPS. Best of luck!

Thanks a lot, guys!
Marshman - I heard about that spot (thats the only one I heard of) and from my experience in BB, I know that you can forget it if the water is not billowing with silt. I hear ya about darkness, that must be pretty dark… Will bring extra batteries for the handheld GPS for sure.
edisto9871 - I havent seen your mail (yet), did you try to send me a PM or email?
Thx and y’all have a great season
