Shrimping in the Edisto area

I know this is not the shrimping forum but I havn’t seen any reports about shrimping in the Edisto area has anyone been and have they had any sucess?

My brother and several friends are there yesterday and today but have not got a good report from any of them yet. They all start comming home later this afternoon and I will post what I hear.

First reports comming in …medium size and low count on little bros boat…1/4 cooler yesterday and this morning. Yesterday and fairly new full time resident from here @ Edisto got his limit of the same mix of medium shrimp on the Combahee banks. My boss and a friend met lil bro on his way in this am heading to the banks and he should report in later tonight. My guess would be there will be fresh shrimp boiled on Baynard street tonight at Edisto:smiley: My mouth is watering for lil bro to get home so I will have some also tonight here in the midlands.

We where on the Combahee bank and was catching big shrimp. The water cleared up and we went from catching 10 -15 a cast to nothing. Still amazes how it can turn and off like a faucet. we then move near rock creek and they were real small.

What did you expect right after Hanna? Lots of fresh water flushing shrimp into the ocean where the shrimpboats can get them. Most are gone from the creeks!

Friday Started @ 3PM @ St Helena forgot ( put the net in the boat Shrimping Partner asked if we needed all the junk in the boat and removed net by mistake, this was after poles set and baited.Pulled poles and return to Edisto picked up net return and set back up lacked 2" from a cooler when they cut off 5 passes later. Saturday cooler 5 passes. Sunday 4" from cooler got to tired to throw, Shrimp slowing down probably made 10-12 passes, not as good as Sat. or Friday. However a group next to us cooler, this group cooler Fri.,Sat and Sun. Size Small to Med.
