Have been to Edisto many times fishing and shrimping, but never over bait. Have boat, license, tags, bait and all gear and hope to get down within the next two weeks. Familiar with most places suggested in other posts as best places to shrimp. My question, and please excuse the dumbness since I have never shrimped over bait. Is the best place up next to the bank/grass line in the shallows that drop off to deeper water or like over the other side of Otter on the Combahee bank which if I remember correctly is just shallow water surrounded by deeper drop offs. Am going to try the one pole method so any suggestions without giving away any secrets would be appreciated.
Try around Combahee Bank - the shrimp tend to larger, but there will be more boats in that area compared to the flat at the end of Big Bay Creek.

one boat had 3/4 cooler last Friday. We got 1/3 cooler before dark and then at dark they quit!
We did well on opening day - cooler in 1hr and 15 minutes.
