PREACH!!!

What I do find interesting is that the majority of the “comparing” is being done by a few Clemson fans. Even the USC fans understand there’s no comparison to be made but the fans of the “NCG contender” doesn’t get it! LOL!!!

GW, you might want to research strength of schedule for Clemson and USC. You might be surprised. Just in their remaining schedules, Clemson’s SOS is 48th while USC’s is 31st and aside from USC, Clemson’s remaining opponents are all in the ACC. Not counting the make-up game (if it happens at all), USC has two out of conference games left. One is Clemson, of course, and the other is Chattanooga…and yet they still have a higher SOS ranking for their remaining games than Clemson. I know I’m being objective and that’s typically frowned upon in this establishment but the numbers are what the numbers are.

Lol there are a four games left and the coots play #2 Clemson while Clemson plays the #48 Coots. We are the reason your SOS is higher not the SEC. SOS is always harder when you have guaranteed losses ahead.

First, Most, Biggest

There is no doubt that CU at a top 5 team helps USC’s SOS. But it say it is not the SEC, is just simple idiotic.
USC has already played UGA, UK, and A&M, all ranked (yes preseason but that is how you get SOS right now. so 3 top 25 teams already. they still have UF, and CU. so about half of USC schedule are top 25 (meaning ranked at the time played)

CU has already played NC State. They have BC left to play. so 2 top 25 teams.

USC vs current ranked. No change.

CU vs current ranked. SYR and A&M depending on the poll. Still have BC to play. so 2 or 3.

So do you really believe what you said. “We are the reason your SOS is higher not the SEC”

Clemson minus 37 against Louisville. At the start of the season this was going to be one of the tough games.

Regardless of the “reason,” USC’s SOS is higher than Clemson’s. You can spin it anyway you want but the numbers don’t lie and the fact remains. Aside from Clemson, the ACC is weaker this year than it has been in recent history. Clemson’s SOS gets little to no help from their own conference. USC’s SOS numbers are primarily boosted from their conference schedule and only one OOC game helped their SOS and that’s obviously Clemson. Again, spin it however you want but the numbers don’t lie.

"You don’t always know where you stand till you know that

Stop it with the UCF crap again! To date, UCF has not played a team that has a winning record YET this year! They did get some love as they are ranked higher in the initial CFP rankings than they were last year, even though they say they ONLY look at this years accomplishments.

Fact is that if Bama, Clemson, and ND all keep winning as they should, they will be 1, 2, and 3 in the final CFP ranking, regardless of SOS and all the rest will be playing for that last spot to play Bama in the semifinals! I feel very good about facing ND in the semifinals!

I can see Bama losing to LSU, then LSU winning the SEC. Clemson slides to #1 and Bama comes in at 4 while LSU plays ND. We play Bama… again, and they potentially get an all SEC rematch in the CG.

Put a fork in the UCF discussion. It’s laughable at this point.

Come on. With the brutal schedule ahead for CU…They could lose 1.

I can’t say that scenario isn’t within the realm of possibilities at all. I don’t think it’s likely but I wouldn’t be blown away if it did happen.

I’m with you on the UFC thing. This was a nonissue last season and it’s a nonissue this season. I’m not saying they aren’t a good team but they’re not among the elite college programs in the country and have no business being in the same conversation as Alabama or Clemson or anyone else in the CFP top 4.

Personally, I believe that would be disastrous for Clemson. With their remaining schedule, if they were to lose a game and the others ranked in the top 6 (CFP) win, Clemson could very well fall out of the CFP. I’m not confident a 1 loss Clemson gets in with their SOS.

IF Clemson continues to play like they have since the WF game, they won’t lose and probably make the NCG. Bama’s going to beat LSU by 3 scores. LSU is a good team but they’re not in Bama’s class right now. Bama and UGA would be a good game for about a half, then it will turn into a blowout. Bama vs UK is a blowout from the coin toss. Right now Clemson vs ND with Clemson winning that one. Bama vs OU/Michigan/OSU is a lopsided game. Clemson would fare better with Bama this year but honestly the Tide would beat them by 3 scores. Bama’s defense is susceptible in the secondary but Clemson’s OLine hasn’t been stellar, TL wouldn’t have much time to throw. The Tiger secondary has improved but Alabama’s offense is just (**() good.

Tua walks away with the Heisman.

Clemson beats Sakkerliner by 40. The 5 bomb trifecta is complete and Sakkerliner fans start the next year crap, knowing that next year brings 6.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I definitely agree that if Clemson continues to play like they have been as of late, they cruise to the finals.

I’m still not convinced ND is the team their ranking says they are. I could be dead wrong but I haven’t been impressed.

I don’t think we can rule GA out yet. The one thing they have going for them, other than the talent on the team, is experience. Fromm has big game experience and I think that’s important.

Michigan has a great defense but their offense has been inconsistent. They’re as flaky as their head coach.

In my opinion, this is the best all around team Saban has put on the field. While he may not have the individual “brand names” on the defensive side of the ball, I believe they are collectively as good as any other Alabama defense. Their Offense is what puts the team over the top. Saban has always had game managing Quarterbacks but Tua is a legit QB. He can beat you with his legs, like a typical (as of late) Alabama QB but his arm is his true weapon. He can launch it, he has touch and he’s accurate.

Anybody can beat anybody else on any given Saturday, but I believe Alabama is the best team in the country, by far and it’s not even close, so if anyone were to beat them this year, that would be a HUGE upset.

I agree with all except about Bama. This seems like the best team Saban has had just becasue of the scoring offense. Tua is no doubt a great QB, but lets see what he does against pressure. Like an annoucer siad, we know he make all the throws without anyone in his face, but can he be as accurate with pressure in his face? we will see. The running game is no where as good as it was was Ingram, Henry, Lacy, Yeldon, and Richardson. Bama has the same problem as Clemson at this point (will change Sat night) and that is they really haven’t played anyone that tells us how good they are. We will know alot more about

Who is gonna push Alabama around and apply this pressure that you speak of?

Well, LSU’s defense will apply alot more pressure than they have seen so far for starters.

Have you watched the O-line play for Bama? I doubt Tua has to worry about a hair getting out of place. Add in an extra week of prep for Saban, LSU is going to get embarrassed at home.

Bang, UGA doesn’t have a shot at the playoffs because they will face Bama in the SECCG, giving them two losses. ND has a few games to play but the biggest hurdle will probably be Syracuse, USC is not a good team, the Irish will beat them soundly. Get by Syracuse and they should be in.

That 4th spot is the one that I think is going to be interesting.

Yep! Bama has been my team my whole life and I went to Clemson, so these past few years have been fun to say the least. Again, they are very good, but we will know more after this weeke

I agree LSU has a stout defense but last I checked, Tua has gone untouched largely in part because of his O-line…the same O-line he’ll have against LSU. Pair that with his ability to extend plays with his feet and I believe he’ll be fine. But again, like I said, any given Saturday…

SD, I agree with your scenario, but what if GA doesn’t lose to Alabama in the SEC title game? Then you have a one loss Bama (assuming they beat LSU) and a one loss GA. If that were to playout and some other teams in the top 5 or 6 stumble, I could see that happening. Plus, we’ve already seen Bama make it into the CFP without winning the SEC. Stranger things have happened.

I also agree with your thoughts on ND. Them and Clemson have the easiest path to the CFP. I just don’t believe ND is a top 4 team.
