1 1/2 hrs from downtown Charleston (North). Just way up the river and into a long winding feeder creek that has a few deep holes. Almost where the water gets fresh. Very brackish water. You can catch a large mouth bass in the summer where these fish were. Every winter for 100 years, this is what the large trout do. They winter up there because that is where the bait is and they will leave March/April pregnant. Just go farther and into the side creeks, deep hole ledges and structure. artificail shrimp on bottom crawling. Hot Pink scented shrimp. I dip mine is a pink dye and scent mixture. The Mirrolure MR17 is just as good. My buddy limited out yesterday with 3 over 4 lbs all on the MR17 in 808 color…oh yeah and he was trolling.

I did not know trout got that big. Beautiful fish. My plans for the weekend just changed.

I have followed this forum for many years and rarely post bc it seems someone always wants to find fault with anything you do or say. Bet I’m not the only one.
