Wasn’t paying attention when I coordinated our Family trip in just now realizing it’s during Governors cup. Any other options for a slip rental? Obviously the marina is not an option.
You might be surprised. Its a long shot but about half the marina slips are unusable for Gov. Cups boats bc of the way the marina is laid out, so there will be few additional boat on both sides of C and one side of B and D. Worth checking. Make sure you call in the am so you can get Steve or Larry as they would be most likely to figure out a way to fit you in. If not, Edisto Watersports has some slips. Is a cool weekend to be on the island at least.
I own C-8. Last year they did not put a big boat in my slip but it I am letting them use it to rent

Marina and Edisto Water Sports is a no go. Guess I’ll have to find an owner on the creek.
I had the same problem a few years ago before I bought a slip at Marina. The other issue that week is that the marina boat ramp closes around Wednesday until at least Monday after the tournament. I found a notice at the bulletin board at the ACE Hardware for a slip rental that I did use that week. His slip was way up the creek past the state park boat ramp which meant you were in a long no wake zone essentially from the slip out past the marina. I cannot for the life of me find his contact info but I remember his name and he is a retired builder so the folks at ACE might know him well. If it is worth at least a name you can private message me. The other option that I had considered trying if all else fails is a house just past the Yacht Club. We know the owners and they might be willing to rent some of their dock, though the house is currently on the market.
