Hit folly tonight from 9 -11:30 without a single hit. Fresh waiting as bait … Great conditions. Fished the incoming tide. Guess it’s still a little early in the year for sharks. Also fished yesterday morning for 5 hours starting at 7 a.m with nothing but a ray.
We’ve already put 25 sharks over 5’ and many over 7 and 8 on the sand. Not early, but the bite windows are still small often 2.5 hrs can’t guarantee success. Keep at it. Also daytime is typically much slower. There are the occasional days where it’s great but conditions have to be perfect it seems to that to line up. Focus on twilight and evening hours primarily.

Also “great conditions” weather and wave wise don’t always mean good feeding conditions. The days that are usually most comfortable are the least productive

Fished two hours tonight from peak high tide falling. I had 4 runs and hooked up to one of them. It was a big blacktip but It broke my haywire twist. I’ve never seen wire break at the twist. Oh well. I got to see three huge jumps from it before the wire broke. There’s plenty of sharks here now.

Where were you fishing? I’m looking foward to blacktips in the surf, it looks like it’s still hit or miss from Jacksonville to here. Front beach casting I’ve always looked for a turning low tide at dusk or dawn, read the beach fish the washouts even a few inches deeper can be the difference between success and a boaring day

Finished all of palms yesterday. The black tips were so thick that I could even fish for whiting before have them bit in half or yank off the hook. I never knew how acrobatic black tips where. Landed a 5’ and hooked a couple larger. All during low tide on the incoming.

Messesb,
If you hit any of the beach front just look for breaks in the terrain. Sandbars and troughs are what you need to key in on. All of the beaches will produce if you find the right features. I’m not going to post “exactly” where I like to fish on a public forum but find the features I just mentioned and you’ll find fish. There’s 100s of good spots on any of the beaches. Live bait will help you hook more fish too. What kind of rig are you using? The right rig makes a big difference.

How far out are you fishing? How deep?
First, Most, Biggest
I want to catch them all
I was just casting from the shore that day. Just a simple fish finder rig.

Ford 351WInteresting … But where I fish on folly is just a plain stretch of beach … No easily noticeable differences in the terrain and definitely no visible sandbars. Maybe I’m misunderstanding exactly what your telling me to look for.
Scout the beach near low tide, the cuts, washes and troughs are easier to spot.
Messeb,
Get on Google Earth for your favorite stretch of beach. Look for sandbars and then go see it in person and scout your area. The beach can change a good bit since the photos were taken last but it’ll generally get you in the right area.

Found this sandbar at the far end of Isle of Palms. Any thoughts?
That spot is excellent. One of the best spots ive fished on iop. Only problem is you’re going to need a wild dunes guest pass or a house in wild dunes to access that area. That or a long bike ride down the beach.
