Just got one and been watching a little NetFlix. So many other’s offering T.V. services. Any input on decent things to watch and the best values?
We had a topic here earlier about the “fire stick” and it being “jailbroken”. I know a person that has this and has unlimited EVERYTHING! A few said it was illegal, but the more I search I can not find it as such. If I do get a ■■■■■■■■■ and get it jailbroken do I have to update at a later date and more money?

It’s really not jailbraking a Amazon Fire TV Stick or Box. Amazon uses the Android OS which is open source, and you don’t need to unlock anything to download apps. Unlike apple products, they only let you use apps that they approve. Then you can jailbrake an apple product to download open sources apps if you would like.
As for adding Kodi onto the Amazon Fire Stick, it is very easy but you need to know how to update Kodi and the add-ons that you can download through Kodi. These add-ons are created by developers, and ofter these developers stop updating their add-ons which in turn makes it harder to find certain movies/tv shows and makes the download buffer much longer.
Kodi itself isn’t illegal, but some of the add-ons that you can download are. If you go this route I highly suggest you use a VPN to hide your IP Address.

We have a ■■■■■■■■■ and downloaded kodi and showbox onto it ourselves. I just watched a video on youtube and it was super easy. I will say that showbox is way better than kodi, but it doesn’t allow you to stream any live channels. We pay $30 a month for internet and watch all the tv and movies we can stand!
■■■■■■■■■ with the kodi program on it is what I have. Do a google / you tube search about kodi. What you can watch on kodi is pretty much limitless. Even movies that are in theaters now. Last week I watched the new star wars and darkest hour. You need fast internet.
Gave up on Kodi. All I could ever find were shaky movies with Chinese
subtitles:). Making it work properly is way above my ability with tech.

Showbox is so much better than kodi. But it is only for movies and tv shows…you do have to download an app called mouse toggle to use your ■■■■■■■■■ remote with showbox. Seems like you constantly have to update kodi and the quality sucks on newer movies.

So, if you get rid of cable and buy a ■■■■■■■■■, etc., you need one for each TV, correct? I used to keep up with this stuff but my brain has to be kept partially empty for stuff I need to know at work.

Yes, you will need a device for each TV in your house. Either the FireTV Stick, or the FireTV Box(Has better Hardware).
Kodi and all those associated apps are not illegal, from what I understand. As soon as you start streaming and watching pirated content, you are breaking the law. I’ve heard people brag about all the free movies (still in theaters) and I just can’t justify the stealing for myself. I guess some are more comfortable with it.
I have a smartTV(and ■■■■■■■■■) and no cable.I have tried many of the things in this post. I have not found a interface i really like with kodi, so i ditched it. Also i dont think it is legal.
I have an antennae for local stuff. I use amazon prime, netflix and hulu. there is an app for most TV channels, many you have to pay for. CBS ALL ACCESS is one. we also have the MTV app (Catfish TV show).
I other thing I have tried and if I wanted live TV I would go with this one. SET TV. you can load it on the ■■■■■■■■■ but it is tricky because it is a non-supported app. But there are lots of youttube on how to do it. It has over 500 channels and cost $20 a month. https://www.setvnow.com/
