He would jump at the chance. ADs are hiring high powered OCd these days because it excites the fanbase. Defensive minded coaches don’t get the same HC opportunities they used to.

Just curious, if he would be a good hire when why was he not snatched up over the last 4/5 years?

I am not sold on Smart. I think you need someone with some head coaching experience and someone that knows how to recognize talent in the staff they assemble. Head coach today is very much a CEO type position and being able to recognize talent and manage that talent. Clemson got lucky with Dabo and I do think he is perfect for that school and that job. He understands building a culture where kids want to come and play, but you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with and so far he has proven he has a talent for doing just that.
