So Who Now??

OK, Spurrier being gone is yesterdays news. Now the real fun starts.

Predictions for a new HBC for the coots? Will the go for an in house Dabo kind of guy? Or will they wait until the end of the season. Will they go for a hotdog OC or DC looking to get his first head job? Maybe try for another Legend type guy?

I saw something about Chad Morris getting offered. Would they look at Venables? I bet SC pays a lot more than Rich Rod makes right now, and he’s never coached in the SEC. Interesting

I wonder…

I like Justin Fuente as of right now.

Already 4 big jobs open, speculation is that there will be as many as 12 open by the season’s end. I doubt you’d get a commitment from any of the bigger/hot names any time soon.

Doubt Chad Morris is going anywhere, he held out for a job in Texas and that’ll probably be where his next job is and SMU can counter any offer Sakkerliner makes. The guy at Houston is going to be a top candidate at Maryland or Illinois. Fuentes at Memphis would be a big hire but, he’s going to have a lot of schools after him if they keep winning.

Rich Rod would be an interesting hire for sure.

Doubt Venables would be a hire as a HC they would pursue. Interesting that all the crap Sakkerliner fans have given Dabo and Clemson over the “5” they would hire one of his assistants or that HS coach he had running his offense.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Bob Stoops would be a very nice fit. Ya’ll go with that one…

this might be a reach, but I think that coach at Charleston Southern, Jamie Caldwell, would be a good choice.

For now we have Shawn Elliot. I think he is the best option right now. Hopefully he will workout.

Are you kidding? He’s on top right now and doesn’t have to start from scratch. Not to mention he’s getting too old to start over. Why don’t you just say Nick Saban, it would be about the same thing…

What’s Tanners style? Hire a defense minded coach, an offense minded coach or a Dabo style CEO?

One thing is for sure about the Gamecocks next coach, Clemson fans will tell us all about him, over and over and over

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Toldeo’s HC Matt Campbell is doing a great job there. Wonder if he will get a call.

Why would he want to take a step back? He’s got a good thing rolling in KY and is building.

Fuentes at Memphis is your target.

According to Bovada:

Kirby Smart from Alabama: 2.5 to 1
Shawn Elliott from South Carolina: 3 to 1
Justin Fuente from Memphis: 4 to 1
Ed Orgeron from LSU: 4 to 1
Jeff Brohm from Western Kentucky: 7 to 1
Matt Campbell from Toledo: 8 to 1
Mark Hudspeth from Louisiana-Lafayette: 8 to 1
Matt Wells from Utah State: 12 to 1
Mark Dantonio from Michigan State: 20 to 1

Kirby Smart would be an incredible hire; I don’t think SC has the pull to get him away though. I honestly don’t think Muschamp is that far out of the conversation either…maybe he is, but he shouldn’t be. Auburn is struggling.

Maybe Lou Holtz comes back out of retirement?

Dantonio already shot it down.

Just across my facebook feed…One of Alabama’s top defensive commitments backed out on Alabama. Now committed to South Carolina. Just happened a few hours ago. Put 2 and 2 together? Kirby Smart is on the way??? Not a joke…really happened.
