sorta edisto

i used the search function a good bit to find out as much info as possible and decided to try to make a trip over to pine island yesterday. we put in at live oak landing at near low tide, no problems but i got a small boat. wind was blowing a little but wasn’t too bad crossing the river. still don’t have a depth finder on my boat, so i was a little concerned about hitting bottom but we made it without any issues. fished about 1.5hrs at first spot with 1 sharpnose and 1 huge ray. a nice couple was cruising by and picked me up so i could get the ray off the bottom and get him unhooked. never would’ve got him to the bank. guessing he was at least 3’ diameter.

after the wind died down a little we headed closer to the front of the island. after the sun started getting close the trees and the sharpnoses started biting like crazy. had a ton of hits but only hooked up about half the time. landed about 9 total. was hoping for something larger but chasing rods was fun and kept me busy. not sure about the depth, might be a little shallow for larger sharks in this area.

a good day!
