Caught 25 to 30 sheep’s the biggest was 18 inches and only about 5 that were under size all released. Could of doubled that if I had good hooks. Lost about 6 big ones to spit hooks and 1 break off. Also caught 1 slot red and lost about a 30 incher to a break off. The red fishing was slow but there were a ton of dolphins so might of been that. The structure picture is about 6 ft deep and the whole time I fought the 18 incher we were exchanging mugs since I could see him the entire fight swimming through and over the structure. A quality fight on light tackle. Fished for close to 4hrs and it was steady until about the last 30 minutes. I used mussels and clams and the mussels were more productive. I had oysters but didn’t feel like messing with them cause I had a feeling i was gonna get cut. Ended up getting a nice slice on my knuckle from a oyster that was growing on a mussel. Didn’t hurt at all but bled for like 15 minutes. The water was super clear and green is say probably 8ft of clarity at dead tide.
Thanks for the bait info ,seems like everyone is looking for an alternative to fiddlers. I like your short rod, bet it comes in handy in tight spots.
28 incher my pb red so far for December
Dang that picture of the structure underwater looks like something that could knock a lower unit clean off…

At the time it was 4ft to 6ft deep. Just super clear water the last 2 days

Great report. That clarity is crazy. I wish it was always like that.

Will no one address the cinder block anchor?

I wondered about that too. but after I saw the shellfish and t-shirt advertisement placement, I figured the protocol, standards, and whatknot went out the window. winter and all
I believe that type of anchor is sold at your local Home Depot in the Sportsman’s Section (Aisle 27 - Row 34). It is what is commonly known as “The Masonry Reef Anchor” - Retail value at $19.99

Does this price include the anchor rope and/or chain? And this ain’t advertising; whomever was wearing the shirt probably removed it to provide a soft spot for the fish to lay on. Uh, multiple times…
“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
I think some of you are overlooking the benefits of the cind-anchor. If that piece of marine equipment gets damaged you can return it to Home Depot and they will give you a replacement free of charge and apologize for your time spent returning said item.
I just realized, we’ve all been hooked. Well-placed spread that was too enticing to pass up…

if you could put a yeti logo on that cinder block, you could make a fortune.
If yeti makes a brick anchor its all pods fault. They want 40 for a bucket, so a yeti brick has a guesstimated value of 80 plus but the real question is what would it be valued if it was a HUK brick. The brick anchor is great, you pull up next to some one slam it in and just like that they leave. I don’t know why though, still scratching my head on that one. I just wanted to show off my support for the local tackle shop and my new PFG. If it said HUK it would be all high fives and way to go pal, your the man. Lol
Funny story I was wearing my super fly pfg at the folly pier and this girl starts talking to me about south Africa. Long story short she said she looked up my shirt and it came up a south Africa bait and tackle place and thought I was from south Africa.
But in all seriousness if there is something wrong with me posting a picture supporting a local store that has treated me well I will remove it.
The angriest sheep head I’ve ever caught. Look at that attitude. I almost found out how a sheep’s head bite feels.
40inchreds…no way you should remove any of your posts. I will agree the free advertising was a little over the top. However, you gotta support local.
I’ve heard of bricks at the jetties, but never blocks at the coal chute.

I’ve lost 2 anchors this year. So I’m rockin the block for a while. I wasn’t at the coal shoot… I was at the structure by the York town… Or was I in the south side of the edisto… Or maybe I took the 10ftr to the near shore like a boss.
Got in on some artie action today. I used the slim swim. Pops used the trout trick. It took me a while to get dialed back in and the perfect speed but I was working it like molasses and became slim swim and it was on. I caught about 16 fish total 3 reds the rest trout. I had at least 50 hits maybe 100. I almost left because they kept pulling my tail but not getting hooked. Any tips? I was just at my breaking point when I went 4/5 on 12 to 16 inch trout. Pops was working the trimmed down trout trick like it was summer time. I thought he was hopeless but he caught 2 and shook off 3 in about an 1/2 to an hr that he fished and had 5 more hits. We were bank and wade fishing. He had a 1/8th oz and I took the head of a 1/8th ounce, so close to weightless. My day ended with what would of been my biggest trout of the year popping my line and taking my last slim swim right at my toes. It was at least 20 inches maybe as big as 22. But it was really fat at least 4lbs maybe high 5s. It didn’t try to run at all. It came up to the top and was just shaking its head like its new how to shake hook.
He was super happy with his 15 and 16. (I got a 18 and 19 Bo) He said the 2 he lost were bigger.
My dink of the day
Riptide iPilot and no more anchors needed.
