Will take some pics & put up later.

While pulling up some sea bass a monster cuda grabbed my double hook rig…Took about 15 mins to get him in on that redfish rod…WOW! That joker went 10 feet in the air after i hooked him.

Great job. I was excited about two cobias from the Betsy Ross. So you were at the Beaufort 45?

Yep, at the 45. Was gonna go to Eagles Nest for some bigger Sea Bass after catching the Spades but was really no need. Had PLENTY to clean.

Good for you on the Cobia.

Well, because I am very limited on the days I can get out there in my small boat. I only go for these once, maybe twice a year.

I do not waste any. Give some to a couple of friends we have that are less fortunate than us. Maybe less fortunate than you too!

Make any sense???

Glenn nice post! Yack, what was the purpose of your post?

Yak, you should try spadefish, then you would know the need to keep a copious amount of them, Good Catch DoubleN

DoubleN: Great post and congrats on a successful day on the water. That was quiet the classy answer to an obvious goating. Your response makes perfect sense. Well done!

nice job glenn!

Are jelly balls the only bait that you can use to catch Spades on? What else has been used to catch them on? I have had them all over me at the Ross but there were no Jelly balls to get on the way there. I tried a piece of cantalope, cut bait, they were not interested.

Nice catch Glenn…Looks like a fun day

Thanks guys, it was a great time.

Fred, I like your avatar.

As Nic said, I have heard they would eat shrimp but have never tried myself. It took quite awhile to find enough jellyballs that morning in the Broad.

The grass in the river all the way out is crazy. East winds been blowing.

Pop the tails off shrimp and use a 3/0 circle hook make sure you are right over the structure and then drop it down and bring it up about 5 feet off the structure and jig it up and down trust me you will know when you get one…

Plus they are a blast on a 4000 series spinner but make sure its stout. I blew up a brand new battle 4000 on sunday but it must have been defective because my other ones have done fine.

I do alot of spearfishing and they are probably the most plentiful fish around here.
