Anybody been catching any
There were plenty of them this spring but haven’t seen any since then maybe they left with the jellyballs.

Went out early Saturday morning to fish the flood tide. Picked up a a couple of nice spannish in the vicinity of the outer range marker off from Port Royal Sound. Moved further offshore to the Gordon and caught another 22" spannish and a nice blue. Trolled #1 clark spoons behind # 2 planers and another clark spoon behind a 2 oz. torpedo sinker. Both rigs produced. It was a lot of fishing for a few fish but the quality of the fish were better than what I picked up earler this summer. It was a very enjoyable morning on the water!

Had a school of Spanish around the mouth of May River a couple days ago on the incoming tide. Small (12-14") Jack Crevalle mixed in with them. They were very active on the surface, and the birds stuck right with them. Coincidentally, I just started seeing tiny olive-sized jelly balls in the same area this week.
The Spanish & Jacks hit spoons of all colors (gold/silver/yellow). We just drifted and cast, eventually anchoring because the school was not moving around too much. Very cooperative fish.

Picked up some nice size Spanish Saturday a few miles from the Gordon .
Team Kraken,
Were you AT the Gordon Saturday morning? I was there from around 9:30 to 10:30 Sat. and saw only one other boat and he was anchored. Just curious.

We were back at the landing at 1000 … and yes, I was AT the Gordon and we left and was a little further out when we found them . The spanish went down at 0900 and it was over .
Team Kraken,
I caught my last fish around 10 am. Never did see any birds or fish on the surface.

I caught a few in the Fripp inlet at high tide just inside the breakers. Trolling spoons with weights. Lots of singles no real big schools.
Yea they seem to be starting to show . This time of year it all gets tangled up (ha ha) deer hunting , shrimping , trolling for kings and spanish . Looks like some small jellyballs are showing up so maybe we can throw a spade fish or two in with the mix .
