Sportsman? Reds? bait... HELP

in town on one of our two yearly weeks (May/Oct) here in this excellent place. My fathers 70th birthday is in 2 weeks. We tend to fish Calibogue Sound and surrounding creeks. Would love to put him on a few reds. We aren?t new to this but i would love to put him on a few without hiring a guide. I really just want to get a few pics of him with a few of what I have failed to get pics of in the past. From what i am seeing in the last few weeks from friends catching large reds are in Bulls Bay or somewhere north, mostly on menhaden (we have typically used shrimp). I am not asking for your honey holes, but may i please get some tips on what would help make some much needed memories for us. I have a 19ft bay that has been to Betsy a few and been too skinny inshore more times than I would like to remember… We have had some decent trips and some not so decent. Any tips on bait/areas would be greatly appreciated! What are you folks seeing? I appreciate any consideration… i promise its not for me, its all about the experience and memories.

tight lines…

Large oversized bull reds biting cut mullett on bottom on outgoing tide on rips in Calibogue Sound, about 1/2 between Harbourt Town lighthouse and Haig Point dock. Good luck.
