This is one of my favorite times of year on the site. The temperatures begin to rise the winds calm for a day or two and it is like a jailbreak as everyone scrambles to get offshore. As the reports begin to roll in we all get to read some great stories of father and son fishing together or groups of friends new and old having the time of their life out on the ocean. Some of the reports read like a story others are very simple and straight to the point, but for those of us who have fished offshore we know that memories are made during this time of year and that is the lure of offshore fishing for many of us.
We are heading into May, widely considered to be the best all around month for offshore fishing in the Charleston area. If you are considering an a trip out into the deep blue for the first time ever, I would highly recommend you try and go during this time to see just what all the excitement is about.
