Mercy…
The squib kicks were highly effective. I dont think Vandy got the ball past the 30 yard line on any of them. Might see that the rest of the year? The problem on the 2 returns was our guys ran down field too fast. They ran right past the kick returner. Got to hang back a bit. Bad coaching , for sure.

I do not understand why they cannot find a kicker that can put it in the end zone. They have one coming though, Joseph Charlton from AC Flora HS in Columbia. My son played with him. The kid can kick a country mile. He is described as having a “freakishly strong” leg. It is about time special teams got the stink eye, they have been awful.

What I don’t get is why we let Carson return our kickoffs? Why??? He is short and limited by his size. Let Cooper, Davis or even that Williams return them. They would be more impressive than Carson. But back to what the discussion is about, why can’t we have a good kicker. Hoping Charlton can kick better than who we have now

Agreed.
Or Byrd. he is the fastest on the team…

Fay-row is quickly becoming the go to guy on offense. Its a terrible idea to me to have him returning punts or kickoffs. Carson is talented but doesn’t get to see the field much because of Mike Davis and Brandon Wilds. Therefore, I think Carson is a great fit for the returns and Byrd would be excellent one for punt returns. The last thing you want to do is put your best players on the kicking teams… the highest probability for injury is on that type of play.

Loved his post game speech. The only person that hates the Gamecocks worse than Clemson fans is Steve Spurrier.
between Dabo and Spurrier, you have the complete opposites.
Spurrier calls it like it is. We are not very good, an embarrassing team…but I’m the coach of this embarrassing team
Dabo loves everyone, and everyone played great and everything is roses and rainbows
And Lou Holtz would call everyone he played against “Awfully good.” Spurrier is an arrogant man. But I am glad he is where he is. Dabo does nothing but cheerlead but is one heck of a recruiter.

Helloooooo, what about the Unicorns?
Spurrier “hates” the Gamecocks. Yeah, I’m sure he does. I guess that is why he has stayed here 10 years, he has no place else to go.

Would anyone agree with me that #21 is being held on this kick return?

quote:Holding on both. Holding on most plays. The officials were too soft this night. One of our linebackers got tackled on one of Vandy's long runs. Saw the replay and the official grabbed his flag and put it back up. He looked right at it.

They rarely call holding in the SEC anymore. Not sure why.

It’s a conspiracy by ESPN to keep the games under 6 hours. If they called every hold they would only have time to air 2 games in a day
