St. Helena Sound Inshore Reef

I have read that an artificial reef was built at the mouth of the St. Helena Sound in 2004 (IS-03). Some reports indicate that it disappeared in the mud and it is no longer there. Some maps show it, others don’t. I am just beginning to fish that area. Anyone know anything about that reef?

It is gone and so are the fish.

Yep. But there is the biggest stretch of oyster rakes you ever saw along the bank there for inshore fish and the Combahee Banks Light point. Then a few miles north the Combahee-Coosaw Rip.
