So my youngest daughter got an acceptance letter from Clemson today. Good school, I’m very proud of her. Something I found disconcerting was this pic in the welcome booklet:
This pic is edited. The one in the welcome packet is not.
I think I’ll be spending my money at one of the other 3 or 4 schools she was accepted to.
how did that make it though quality control. This would not prevent me from sending my kid there, but I would make sure they were aware of it.
Somebody failed miserably to do their job. Btw, I have seen much worse than that from both sides of the rivalry over the years.

A buddy of mine (big Tater fan) saw Clemson football players flashing gang signs in their official football photos several years ago. He contacted the athletic department and told them. The photos were replaced. I don’t really expect most people to recognize gang signs but that miss ^^^ is pretty bad.

If a miss by some $12/hr media employee is what decides where your kids go to school I think you’re missing the point of college. Focus on their education, the environment, and where you KID wants to go. Clemson is pretty tough to beat in the first two IMO.
If you think your kid hasn’t been exposed to that language since at least middle school you’re very naive. Sounds like you’ve been riding the Fake Outrage Express for quite some time. And if your kid hasn’t been exposed to this language yet they are either deaf or in for a rude awakening when they take their ear muffs off or use the internet for the first time.
I wouldn’t send my kid to CofC. They have cracks in the sidewalk and bubblegum too! Homeschooling University of Phoenix is probably the best option for YOU!

I find this very disturbing, and very lol. Are the other 3 schools she has been accepted to academically competitive with CU? Does she have an idea what she wants to major in? If so, how does CU’s program in that discipline stack up with the others? Better, worse? And I suppose just as important - Where does she want to go to school the most? I couldn’t imaging one of my kids doing the work in high school, then going through the application process, being accepted, and then me saying, sorry kiddo, I didn’t like one of their marketing pictures so that ones out. C’mon man. Seriously?

I’m not trying to shelter her from anything. That was not the point of my post. This University that is supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread to so many, doesn’t have their poop in a group enough to catch something like this before it goes to print (and apparently was distributed online as well). If they can’t get the little things right it makes me question the organization as a whole.
The school did the right thing and sent this apology email on Christmas Eve:
"A packet of information mailed to you and other students who have been offered admission to Clemson for the fall of 2017 inadvertently included a photograph that contained a profane word.
The University is taking steps to address the situation in both its mailing and its digital acceptance materials that included the same photograph.
Clemson apologizes to you and all of those who received the mailing and hopes the error in no way diminishes the sense of excitement and pride that these students feel by being accepted to Clemson.
Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season. Your interest in Clemson University is greatly appreciated.

They did make a class move, unlike you. Your whole reason for this post was to trash the school. You could have sent your daughter to one of the others, as you implied you were, and never brought this up.
