Steamboat Landing 3-17-07

I did some work on my boat the last two weeks and was dying to run it a little. Put in at low Sat afternoon and ran out to N. Edisto to look at some spots for later, but the wind was out of control. since the wife let me out of the house for a couple hours, I rode up the creek by steamboat landing to get out of the wind. Landed a 18" fat trout and a 17" spottail in an hour. Spinnerbait with gulp. Both released healthy.

BTW, a buddy showed me these bass assissin jig heads (I usually use gotcha). I went to florida last weekend with them for the first time and caught 7 reds, 1 flounder, 1 trout. no misses, and both hits yesterday got landed. I really like them, super sharp, but they are $1 each.

What do they call those jigheads?

here they are,
In the Bass Pro search bar, type in this part number: 38-462-044-02
BP has screw lock in the name, but the picture is correct and they come 4 per pack. I got mine at academy sports.

Also, the eyelet is on the tip of the lead head, so I used to make a redfish magic. Swims better than other jig heads IMO.
