Steward Mandel's BCS Forecast...

Honestly, I dont understand that SOS page.
I looked at arkansas yesterday and they have a brutal schedule.
#10. Texas A&M
#18. Florida
#14. SC
#1. Bama
In a row

then LSU to end the season.

Southern Mississippi(0-5) #114 overall power ranking and #104 SOS is what is hurting their SOS.

Don’t be surprised if they win one or two of those games.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

They have a great chance this weekend.

But my point was that is a brutal schedule, 5 top 20 teams. 4 in a row. But that SOS page, I’m not sure how to read it. Where does arkansas rank?

Pretty sure that is SOS as of games already played (not games in the future).

IE Clemson’s SOS should jump way up right after we play FSU.

Or am I off base on that?

So Clemson is #40 is SOS of games already played? Is that how you read it?

Yep fish that’s how I read it.

Don’t see how we would be #40 with #6 FSU and #14 USC on the schedule and having already played #5 UGA.

Would think they are not taking those two games into account yet.

Thats why I asked, because it seems odd that USC is above Ark. But ark has played 2 top 20 teams already.

These things are to hard to figure out. It did say that it was against FBS teams only, so maybe CU is that low because they played an FCS school.

Has to be. No way Clemson’s overall schedule is 40th. Should jump up to top 10-15 after the FSU game.

That seems a bit much to jump from #40 to #10 from 1 game.

The computers like Clemson alot and as long as they beat Florida State, they will likely be #2 when the bcs comes out.

After the initial bcs comes out, Oregon will have to play #11 UCLA and #5 Stanford. Oregon and Clemson may flip flop in the rankings a few times before it’s all over, but Clemson should get the edge in their final two games with probably a top 12 SC team and the ACCCG.

Schedule between Clemson and Oregon is certainly in Clemson’s favor.

Ohio state has a cupcake schedule and won’t get to the big dance unless every team drops a game. To me, Stanford has the next best chance at playing for the title if they stay undefeated. UCLA and they play Oregon in November on a Thursday night on a huge national stage…will only help their rankings in the title race.

Inevitably, someone will lose a game they shouldn’t and shake up the bcs. I can’t wait to see who survives!

Side note: In Stanford’s victory over Oregon last year, Oregon was held to 29 fewer points than they scored all regular season long.

Should we use your assessment of Oregon/Clemson in your first post or this one? The first one you say Oregon will be more deserving IYO. This one you say Clemson has the better schedule. I am assuming you mean better teams played as you mention a 12 USC and the ACCCG. If that is the case, what is your criteria for Oregon being more deserving of the NC game?

If Clemson wins out and I think that is a pretty big if at this point, they will have wins over a #5 UGA, possibly a #5 FSU, if USC keeps winning they will be top 10 by then and then if Miami keeps winning they will easily be top 8 or better in the ACCCG.

Oregon will

BTW. to many undefeated teams still. If OSU, stanford, FSU, Miami…win out they will be in it. I know some thing have to play the other mentioned above, but still to many for now.

You do know that if all those teams win out that only 2 of them can play in the NC game, right? They all can’t be in it!.

Thanks for setting me straight

The point was that there are still to many teams in play. He11 if UGA wins out, they will be in the discussion.

How many of you Clemson fans have your pasadena plans already?

It is what it is!

Pasadena plans will not be made until after the ACCCG if we even make that.
As I said I would think we have about a 15% chance.

I wouldn’t go if they were in it.

I would go.

I would not go even if USC was in it. I am a serious fan but I like my money to much

Once in a lifetime game for most teams out there. I have the means to go, why not experience all that the BCSNCG has to offer?
