holy $&@!*

If everyone wins out, personally I think Oregon is more deserving to play the big game.

I think there’s still a bad taste in the ESPN guys’ mouths about Oregon losing to LSU in the opener a few years back. This is a different Alabama team and its a different Oregon team.

And I don’t think Clemson would stand a chance against Alabama, but I’d love to see them destroy Ohio State, the great pretender. Maybe a better game would be Baylor/Clemson shootout, that would be fun to watch.

Edit: There must not be any new Gamecocks articles out if Shevlin is actually posting about the Tigers today.

It sort of depends on the showing against FSU at this point. I can see Clemson leaping Oregon with a convincing win over FSU especially if Oregon struggles with Stanford. Does that mean they are better than Oregon, not at all. Clemson also has SC, FSU has UF and Bama has an Auburn team that is playing well every week or two. Gotta play them all out and see where the chips fall. Too many season past we’ve seen a 1,2 or 3 lose when they shouldn’t have.

If things continue as they are now, I see Oregon and Bama for the crystal.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Na Ricky as you can see Clowney is all over the news but it breaks my heart too much to post about it.

Not mine. I said early on that he’s got his eye on the money, not SC’s season. Hate it for them but Karma is a ***** and when you talk a lot about how awesome a prima donna like that is it comes up and bite’s you on the ass. Sucks for the rest of the team but oh well. At this point Bone Spur V. McRib is a cancer on that team, calling players out, coaches out and then sitting himself out. Spurrier would gain a lot of respect if he just sat him and told him not to bother dressing from here on out unless he planned giving 110% effort.

If he indeed is not injured and sits himself out of another game, I’ll be the first to give my support to Spurrier to kick his butt off the team.

I hope that doesn’t happen. I hope he really is hurt and couldn’t play. I hope he shows up and gets five sacks this week.

Shevlin on post crap about USC and good for CU.

and these projections are as good as preseason polls

BTW. to many undefeated teams still. If OSU, stanford, FSU, Miami…win out they will be in it. I know some thing have to play the other mentioned above, but still to many for now.

Obviously Fish…its only week 7. Was surprised to see our name in the projection…for the first time, ever.

Hence the “holy @$%” comment.

Think our chances of going to the NC would be around 15-20% at this point.

You never know, Bama still has to play some tough teams. Oregon as well. OSU’s SOS is crap but they have a date with Michigan still. Stanford is beatable, Washington almost did it. FSU/Clemson to me is one of the main key games. Miami is good but they aren’t the “U” again yet.

Oregon & Stanford play each other so that knocks one out of the race.

Ohio State could very well do it but think that Clemson or FSU would go instead based off OSU’s weak SOS. They won’t play a team in the top 15 all year.

Shevlin, that makes since. But it is OSU. If they win out and Oregon doesn’t. OSU will be in the NC game. SOS does not matter when it comes to dynasty’s.

Will have to agree to disagree there Fish.

33% of the BCS is off a computer system taking SOS into account and we are #2 in the system today.

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/rankings/bcs

We are tied for 3rd with them in the 2 human polls that make up 66% of the BCS. We have a tougher schedule here on out than OSU does and think the computer system would tip the scales in our favor.

Really sucks the playoff does not start this year because we are going to have a drop off next year after losing Boyd & Sammy and a good chance of losing Chad Morris.

I hear ya. But I believe if OSU is undefeated the human vote will be on their side. This is not a shot at Clemson. I just believe the voters like the dynasty’s. Which means that Bama and OSU would be a HUGE draw. Lets face it, if they go undefeated they would have won 25 games(I think) in a row.

That is projected not saying they won’t be number 2 when the real BCS standings come out October 20th.

FSU will tell the tale…game making me real nervous.

The computers like Clemson alot and as long as they beat Florida State, they will likely be #2 when the bcs comes out.

After the initial bcs comes out, Oregon will have to play #11 UCLA and #5 Stanford. Oregon and Clemson may flip flop in the rankings a few times before it’s all over, but Clemson should get the edge in their final two games with probably a top 12 SC team and the ACCCG.

Schedule between Clemson and Oregon is certainly in Clemson’s favor.

Ohio state has a cupcake schedule and won’t get to the big dance unless every team drops a game. To me, Stanford has the next best chance at playing for the title if they stay undefeated. UCLA and they play Oregon in November on a Thursday night on a huge national stage…will only help their rankings in the title race.

Inevitably, someone will lose a game they shouldn’t and shake up the bcs. I can’t wait to see who survives!

Side note: In Stanford’s victory over Oregon last year, Oregon was held to 29 fewer points than they scored all regular season long.

Here is a SOS ranking as of 10/7. I tried cut and paste but did not format well.

I honestly think Alabama loses a game before Oregon does. In all actuality it doesn’t matter what we think, it’s who can run the table. If both Clemson and OSU do it, then I think Clemson gets the nod, but who knows.

Thanks for posting that.

Looked around at a few stats and was surprised to see the ACC as #2 behind the SEC in the power ratings. If that stays up would help Clemson and or FSU’s case if there are multiple undefeated teams.

3 teams in the top 7
