Iranfishing.com is a different site -
On a serious note - that sucks. I hate hate HATE registering things, but states like FL have already introduced trailer registration to help cut down on theft. If you have $1500 in quick craigslist cash sitting on the back of your truck, someone eventually will try and steal it. Limiting options on re-selling or registering would be a deterrent I hope -
Sniper on that bluff across the cut should have a nice view
I can’t believe they don’t have cameras at these larger landings…
Also, on the bottom of your coupler on your trailer, there is a nut. That nut adjusts the tension that the coupler puts on the ball. That nut can be taken off VERY EASILY…trailer removed from your truck, rolled to another truck, set down and put back together…WITH YOUR LOCK STILL ATTACHED.
Some new couplers have a piece of metal inbetween the nut and the spring to keep you from being able to turn it with a wrench. I bought my coupler for my trailer based on this. Can’t recall what brand it was, maybe Fulton?

Back your trailer against any stop or post at the landing.Just backing your trailer in makes it harder to steal.

Also remember that “LOCKS ARE FOR HONEST PEOPLE!”
Wait till shrimping season gets going. Sitting on the boat while someone is jacking with my trailer. Not a pleasant thought.

Let me know when you are going and what landing. I’ll keep watch over the trailers for a little bit of shrimp.

Originally posted by JWHITEI like the idea of the cameras. Two HD cameras with a 24 hour loop placed at both exits to Wappoo and any of the other public ramps. I wouldnt think it would take too much in private donations to make it happen. I would happily donate to a gofundme if the proper officials approved it… Sorry (again) to hear about your trailer. We met while you were anchored…

I think most people would be willing to fund this with taxes. Heck, even raise the RV/Boat fee to cover it.
Why couldnt someone make an alarm that connects to your trailer from your vehicle that makes alot of noise when the trailer is removed improperly?
Won’t stop it from getting stolen, but you can send the cops to get it back!http://www.brickhousesecurity.com/product/spark+nano+wireless+gps+tracker.do?sortby=bestSellers&from=fn
Ollie’s has some of those dash cam’s with video and audio recording for $20. Has endless loop recording and supports sd card up to 32GB. That would be cheaper than an alarm system and would give picture of the thief.

Check out these new tracking devices. The size of a quarter and can be tracked anywhere using a smart phone, with no monthly fees! If they work as advertised they are well worth the price, which is cheap!

I ordered 5 of them, buy 3 get 2 free deal. One for each dog collar, one for each car, one for a spare. Less than $100 for 5 devices. We’ll see.
