We’re heading down to our house on Store Creek for Spring Break this weekend and my 8 yr old son loves to fish but I don’t have much experience fishing the low country creeks. Need to know what works best; live bait, lures, etc… Also need to know best time, low or high tide, coming in or goin out. I’m sure all that depends on what we’re trying to catch, but that’s not as important to him as hooking something and reeling it in. We’re going to let go whatever we catch anyway. We’ll spend most of our time at the upper end of Store Creek, between 174 and Sunnyside.
Just a thought. If you have a dock, your son might enjoy crabbing better. I always see people in Store Creek crabbin’ at low tide. I have a nephew the same age and he loves crabbin’ more than fishin’.
Thnaks edistobrad, We do crab here and get lots of them. I myself don’t like to pick crabs so I usually wait until we have a house full of neices down who don’t mind the picking.
Not sure about store but just around the corner in fishing creek I have been catching trout with electric chicken bass assassins, chartreuse gulps, small mirrolures. I like the falling tide. I’ve been meaning to give store a try maybe next time I’m home, letme know how you do.
Thanks Billder, i’m heading down right now, I’ll let you know.
